• We are needing volunteers to work in New Baden for September 6th to collect in New Baden's 4-way stop. 
• Shifts for change collecting are here to sign up.

• We are seeking volunteers to work two hour shifts starting from 8:00 to 4:00 on Friday and 8AM to 12PM on Saturday.
• This is a great way to give back to the organization and get funds to keep our sports activities striving for gold.

24th Annual "Big Blue Blowout" - Coaches training
24th Big Blue Blowout will be hosted in Bloomington-Normal. BBB is an opportunity for coaches to attend multiple sport trainings and coach education courses in one weekend. BBB is a great opportunity to meet, network, and swap best practices with other coaches from around the state.

Completion of coach certification for each sport is highly recommended but not yet required.  However, the Coaches Education System is also a means of tracking certification and rewarding those who continue their sport education.  Coaches interested in serving as a USA Games or World Games coach for Team Illinois or Special Olympics USA must be certified in the sport they are applying for.

*Friendly reminder, this will be the last Big Blue offered before the 2026 USA Games Coach
applications will be due.  Current certification is required in all sports a coach is applying for.

• The Southern Illinois Ice Hawks have agreed to send coaches to assist with practices
• The team will consist of 15 athletes

If we get more than that with full commitment we can consider an additional team.

• Regionals - will be in Mascoutah on 29 September

Tennis at State !!!

• We were the talk of the state tournament!!!
  • Congratulation goes out to all the tennis athletes
  • Everyone came home with a medal
  • We have three state champions and one doubles state champions
  • We had several that made it to the championship game that came up short

Every athlete played well and up their game. Best match and entertaining of the weekend were between Wendy/KK and Stacey/Ryan. They were still talking about it on Sunday.

  • Some divisions became 2-team brackets, and In this format- the two competing will play two matches against each other throughout the day
    
  • If each person wins a match, we will follow the same tie-break as our traditional round robin bracket:
    
    • First: the fewest number of sets lost in all matches.
      
    • Second: the most games won in all matches 
      
    • Third: the fewest number of games lost in all matches 
      
  • As a reminder, we are following the new 50-minute time limit used for all matches at all levels of play.
    
  • Matches are scheduled in 1 hour blocks allowing 50 minutes for court play (includes a 5 minute warmup) and 10 minutes for transition between matches.
