NEEDED - Volunteers for Candy Days in New Baden & Trenton Fund Raiser
New Baden - September 6th (Region J)

• We are needing volunteers to work in New Baden for September 6th to collect in New Baden's 4-way stop. 
• Shifts for change collecting are here to sign up. 

​Trenton - October 18th & 19th (WLTG) 
Sign up for the Trenton Fund Raiser for 18th & 19th of October. 

• We are seeking volunteers to work two hour shifts starting from 8:00 to 4:00 on Friday and 8AM to 12PM on Saturday.
• This is a great way to give back to the organization and get funds to keep our sports activities striving for gold.

24th Annual "Big Blue Blowout" - Coaches training
24th Big Blue Blowout will be hosted in Bloomington-Normal. BBB is an opportunity for coaches to attend multiple sport trainings and coach education courses in one weekend. BBB is a great opportunity to meet, network, and swap best practices with other coaches from around the state.

Completion of coach certification for each sport is highly recommended but not yet required.  However, the Coaches Education System is also a means of tracking certification and rewarding those who continue their sport education.  Coaches interested in serving as a USA Games or World Games coach for Team Illinois or Special Olympics USA must be certified in the sport they are applying for.

*To ensure a t-shirt please register by Wednesday, September 11.

*Friendly reminder, this will be the last Big Blue offered before the 2026 USA Games Coach
applications will be due.  Current certification is required in all sports a coach is applying for.

Talent Show - Postponed
The talent show has postponed until Spring 2025.  Stay tuned!  

Floor Hockey & Snow Shoe MEETING
We will be holding a meeting for all athletes who want to play Floor Hockey and Snow shoeing on 27 August at Mascoutah (Grass soccer field) at 7:30.

• This is to discuss each sport, equipment, and practices. Please attend the meeting.

Floor Hockey Details

• We will be starting floor hockey next month
  If interested, please sign up at [email protected]
• Each athlete must have a helmet, gloves and shin guards
• Practices will be on Saturday’s at 9:00 at the Mascoutah Leu Civic Center
• The Southern Illinois Ice Hawks have agreed to send coaches to assist with practices
• The team will consist of 15 athletes
• Tentative start date is September 2024

If we get more than that with full commitment we can consider an additional team.

Flag Football

• The next scrimmage will be in Springfield on August 20 @ 6PM.
• Practices will be on Tuesdays at Laderman Park  at 6:00. 
• Scrimmage -  27 August at 6PM at Mascoutah High School
• Area Flag Football Tournament - September 7 (Saturday)  at Holt High School (tentative) (St. Louis)
• Regionals - will be in Mascoutah on 29 September
• State - will be in November 2, 2024

Softball
Congratulations to the Without limits Team Galaxy softball team winning gold at regionals and advancing to state for softball !!!!

• Practices will be on Mondays at Mascoutah High School
• State will be in September 7-8

Golf
Congratulations to all the golfers.

• State on 7-8 September

• NOTICE -- Practice on Wednesday (Aug. 28)  at Grant Middle School from 6PM to 7PM

Bocce Ball

• Bocce has started.  Coach will contact with details.

Bowling

• No bowling this weekend for Labor Day Holiday
• Sectionals are scheduled for September 22nd @ St. Clair Bowling
