Instructional / Development Special Olympic Young Athletes Program Special Olympic Competitive Team Not Sure

Instructional Sessions: The program will run from January 2026 to May 2026 with weekly practice sessions, each lasting 45 minutes. Focuses on water safety and comfort, helping participants become familiar with the water. Will teach basic swimming strokes, breath control, and floating skills. No competitive effort is required. (*Parent / Guardian participation is mandatory - You will need to be available in the pool to assist)

Special Olympic Young Athletes Program: (A SO program for children ages 2–7 with and without intellectual disabilities) -- This program will run in parallel to the instructional sessions but will allow for competitive opportunities at regional / state swimming events. (*Parent / Guardian participation is mandatory - You will need to be available in the pool to assist)

Special Olympics Competitive Team: For those participating in the competitive team, practices will be held once a week for 60 minutes immediately following the instructional session from January 2026 to May 2026. Improves swim strokes, endurance, and safety in deeper water.

*NOTE: Due to the number of swimmers, we require a 4 to 1 swimmer-to-coach / instructor ratio to provide personalized attention. Thus, in-pool participation at the instructional / YA levels are mandatory.
