New Information
For coaches: All new and or renewing Class A’s can be completed at http://www.soill.org/class-a-registration. If you have Class A’s or Med Apps no longer with the agency, please let me know and I will have them removed.

Importance of signing up prior to the sport starting:  This last weekend we needed to change the location of practice at the last minute.  Coaches notified all the athletes that were on the signup list and practice took place.  An athlete showed up late and missed the practice.  The athlete was not notified because the coaches did not know they wanted to take part in the sport.  Parents:  PLEASE sign up for the sport when Without Limits puts out the signup list or calls for athletes.

Parent’s & Athletes meeting
June 6, 2024 @ 6PM – Scheve Park
We will be holding a parents’ and athletes’ meeting on 6 June 2024 (Thursday) at 6:00 at Scheve Park.  The meeting will be for an hour and focus on these upcoming sports; Bocce (need to start in June), Volleyball (Will have to start in July), Flag Football (Will start in July), and Floor Hockey (Starts in August).  We will also discuss coaches, needed equipment, uniforms, and behaviors.  All coaches, chaperones, and volunteers must have a Class A registration on file with Special Olympics Illinois.  If you have not already completed your Class A or your Class A is expiring soon or you have never done one, you will need to complete a new one as soon as possible.   
 
The registration is completed online and will only take 15 minutes or so to do.  The registration has 3 parts:  Concussion Awareness, Protective Behaviors, and a Background check.  After you have completed the registration and receive your notice that it was approved (which will take a few weeks), please forward us a copy of that email showing you were approved.  If you already have a Class A, please respond to this email with your name and date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY) so that we will have it in our records.  If you plan on playing or coaching any of these sports, please attend the meeting.

Softball
We will be starting practices on May 13 at 6:00.  Practices will be at Mascoutah High School. Without Limits is taking an interest list currently.  We need your name, date of birth, Med app date, and shirt size.  Regionals will be on 27 July in Springfield.  State will be in September.7-8. If you plan on playing, please email [email protected].
 
Golf
Golf will be held on Thursdays starting May 9 at the Orchards Golf Course at 6:00.  If you plan on playing, please email [email protected].  We need your name, date of birth, Med app date, and shirt size.  We will offer skills, singles, and doubles.  We will start assessments on May 9. Regionals are on 2 August and State on 7-8 September. Foz Ryan Golf Outing – May 24, 2024, at Oak Brook Golf Course in Edwardsville. A flyer is attached.  The Foz Ryan Golf outing is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois.
 
Flag Football
Flag football will start on 18 June at Laderman Park in Belleville at 6:00.  This will be the first assessment day.  The next assessment will be 25 June at Laderman at 6:00.  No third assessment will be conducted due to the holiday.  You must make one of these assessments to play in the upcoming season.  The first official practice will be on 9 July.  Practices will be on Tuesdays at Laderman or Mascoutah at 6:00.   Without Limits is taking an interest list currently.  If you plan on playing, please email [email protected] with your name, date of birth, Med app date, and shirt size.  Regionals will be in Mascoutah on 29 September.  State will be in November.
 
Tennis
Practices are on Saturdays at 9:00 at Mascoutah High School. Assessments have been completed. For those who did not complete assessments, you can join us but will not be able to compete.  Regionals will be on 27 July in Springfield.  State will be in September 7-8. • State Tennis is August 17, 2024, at the same location as the Region G Qualifier

 
Athletics (Track and Field)
Congrats to all the athletes who competed.  Every athlete had personal records.  Congrats to those who are advancing to State.  More to come in the upcoming weeks. Next practice is on 8 May at 6:00.  The weather looks good.  Please bring your team shirt.  We are making arrangements to get smaller sizes.

Bocce
We need all white shirts turned in ASAP.  Please get with Ellen to make those arrangements.

Soccer
Remember: We will be having one practice a week on Tuesday’s at 6:00 at Laderman. A separate email was sent to team members.

​Pickleball
The Missouri Special Olympics is starting Pickleball as one of their sports.  For those who are interested, we can get some courts in St. Charles.  It will be during our tennis season.  If anyone is still interested, please contact [email protected].   The last session will be on 27 May (Monday) at 7:00.  Address is Chicken ‘N Pickle, 1500 S Main St, St Charles, MO 63303
